Iron Maiden is the final track on the eponymous album that runs for 3:35. It was written primarily by Steve Harris, who says that it's there trademark song. "As long as I can remember we've closed our set with that song."

Harris noted that the song could be interpreted about a cold-blooded woman who kills people in her room.

("Won't you come into my room, I want to show you all my wares. I just want to see your blood, I just want to stand and stare.")

He also explained the instrumental aspect to the song: "It's quite simple. The bassline is fairly straight foward as is the drumming. But the guitar is over-the-top with harmony, and the bassline is descending behind it. I think this makes it pretty special."

The song Iron Maiden also appears on Iron Maiden's first ever studio work, The Soundhouse Tapes.

Lyrics:

Won't you come into my room?

I want to show you all my wares.

I just want to see your blood,

I just want to stand and stare.

See the blood begin to flow,

as it falls upon the floor,

Iron Maiden can't be fought,

Iron Maiden can't be sought.

Oh well, where ever... where ever you are.

Iron Maiden's... gonna get you, no matter how far,

See the blood flow, watching it shed, up above me head,

Iron Maiden wants you for dead.

Won't you come into my room?

I want to show you all my wares.

I just want to see your blood,

I just want to stand and stare.

See the blood begin to flow,

as it falls upon the floor,

Iron Maiden can't be fought,

Iron Maiden can't be sought.

Oh well, where ever... where ever you are.

Iron Maiden's... gonna get you, no matter how far,

See the blood flow, watching it shed, up above me head,

Iron Maiden wants you for dead.

Won't you come into my room?

I want to show you all my wares.

I just want to see your blood,

I just want to stand and stare.

See the blood begin to flow,

as it falls upon the floor,

Iron Maiden can't be fought,

Iron Maiden can't be sought.

Oh well, where ever... where ever you are.

Iron Maiden's... gonna get you, no matter how far,

See the blood flow, watching it shed, up above me head,

Iron Maiden wants you for dead.
